Perhaps Brad Wall should considering proroguing the legislature since nothing constructive is being done by our elected members. When my kids misbehaved they got a time out to be served alone in their rooms and to think about their misconduct. It would appear that some of our MLAs could use a similar time out.
I was particularly appalled byLingenfelter's recent antic of "throw a lot of mud and hope some sticks" with his allegations against LeClerc (SP Apr.3/10). If LeClerc had made threatening remarks to Lingenfelter last November I can't believe that Link wouldn't have capitalized on it then. Link states "when he threatens me and says he knows where my family lives, I take issue with that." If I felt my family had been threatened I wouldn't have waited four or five months to deal with it. LeClerc is the perfect patsy as he has been open about his past and rehabilitation. He also has 25 years of good work to prove his rehab worked and to offset his misdeeds of past. There is no point to reform if we continually throw an individual's past at them whenever if behooves a cause.
The dangling questions is: Who is the thug?

So if these allegations are true shouldn't there be an immediate RCMP investigation regardless of any complaint being officially logged. Link has made these allegations in a public forum the RCMP are mandated to take that info an follow it through. Ah and if nothing comes of it then Link should be charged with slander. Saying you believe your were threatened and actually being threatened are 2 different things.
ReplyDeleteThis just shows the NDP are no better in opposition than they were in power. The sooner the Liberals get their act together in this province the better.
Serge LeClerc would be the thug given his past and continued actions. The Liberals have been replaced by the Greens.
ReplyDeleteLiberals replaced by the Greens? Huh? The Greens are a nice little boutique party who will never amount to anything.
ReplyDeleteOn a Federal level I took great delight in watching that Elizabeth May act like a pig and waddle to the trough in trying to support the coalition. She was contributing all....0 of her party's parliamentary seats.
Combined vote in the last two byelections.
ReplyDeleteGreen party:554
Liberal party: 112
Really? LeClerc smugly said on TV that he didn't threaten him but said that 'they could go for a drink at the bar...'. The tone of his voice said everything.
ReplyDeleteYes, Lingenfelter is being opportunistic but there really seems to be thuggish behaviour on LeClerc's part. Who is in the wrong? BOTH of them.
Just another example of how neither party, NDP or SaskParty, care much about governing this province, they'd rather spend their time fighting a pr battle for power.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I'm lost all interest in provincial politics. Province is divided into two camps who do nothing but hurl insults and slurs back and forth. Wall or Link, we are screwed either way next election.
"we are screwed either way next election"
ReplyDeleteThat is why the NDP kept getting in election after election. Not that they were doing ALL the right things just it was better to get screwed by the one you know than the one you don't!! Personally I'll take it were I can get it these days. LOL :?
I don't even blame the NDP or the SaskParty, I blame the people of this province that are so naive as to get suckered into whatever argument either party trots out to their faithful.
ReplyDeleteLink could say anything from 'kill baby seals' to 'big oil is a big problem' and without thinking the NDP drones would be out repeating anything he said.
People should stop voting on party alliances and start voting on ideas and vision. Although, I haven't seen much vision from either party and we'd likely be stuck with the Green Party in power :s
I think these comments are starting to get to the core of the issue. Which leader and which party "honestly" represents our values and principles? Who do we want to trust with the reins of power? To see elected officials carry on in the manner they have during the last few months, is truly disheartening for a citizen and a voter. This "thuggery" has got to quit - politics should be "for the people" not "for the politicians" and their
ReplyDeleteaspirations for power and gain. As a society we need to be counted and demand, mature, HONEST, intelligent representation and leaders who are prepared to make decisions that are in the public interest yet may be counter to their own political interests. To accept anything less as a society, is to undermine democracy and eventually our freedom. In the end, it is our responsibility to keep our politicians honest.
The thug would be the guy who admits he confronted an individual in a hostile manner as reported by Mandryk.
ReplyDeleteThe NDP had a great leader and Premiere in Mr, Calvert, he had it all, integrity, honesty and the ability to balance a pretty diverse group of NDP MLAs. Now they (and we)have to put up with a leader who has had his day and doesn't know when to quit. They should have taken Scott Banda when they had the chance!
ReplyDeleteregarding calvert, you also forgot 'leather face'. he had a good old leather face as well
ReplyDeleteWith recent news the thug would be the individual who lies about how he received his pardon for past crimes.
