Back to demi-gods

All the hoopla around the Sask Party snagging Gene Makowsky as a candidate in next year's provincial election escapes me. From where I sit it appears this gentleman is nearing the end of his football career and needs a job. Not much as been noted about what he supports or opposes. His sole credential for running for office is that he is currently a sport demi-god. Come next November will he be on the field for the Riders or Wall?

What play does the government need to block that necessitates securing an offensive lineman for the team?

  1. Maybe he needed some protection against all the sh@t that Link is going to start flinging at him in desperation.

How great will that race be, it'll be like an old time wrestling match. The Green Giant (football playing giant Makowsky) vs. The Big Boss Man (prison guard Yates).

Even better than hearing big Gene has joined to SP, was hearing the NDP hacks deriding the decision on CBC's website yesterday, calling him unqualified (while ignoring the fact that they rabidly support Safeway clerks for office).

This is going to be a great election.

  2. What a beautiful manoever. His nomination effectvely eliminates Yates' primary strength (which is, of course not a redeeming virtue): his ability to smear the opponent.

In a sublime sense of the poetic for which he is becoming reknown, Wall recruited an offensive lineman to block blind-side attacks from the opposition.

  3. This reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Prison guard vs Football Player, THE LONGEST YARD, oh and the football player won that one as well.

  4. Who is less qualified to sit in legislature: the prison guard or the football player?

  5. Good thing for Gene is that on Team Wall you don't need to be able to count.

  6. Maybe he also joined Team Wall because having ethics and morals precluded him from joining Team Link

  7. As an educator and football player, he has the smarts and hopefully thick enough skin to survive the mean-spiritedness in politics.

  8. Morals and ethics on team Wall? I guess if you view serving with an MLA who refused to provide a breath sample to the RCMP ethical...

  9. Team Wall not able to count? I wonder if they are able to count the millions of dollars that team NDP sunk into Thompson Meats

  10. Biggest budget deficit in the provinces history because Team Wall cannot count!

  11. Team Link phones 90 years olds and harasses them! Shame!

  12. yup, its getting mean-spirited and nasty...

  13. What an immature discussion. all nasty rhetoric & no substance. what a pity our civil discourse has deterioated to this extent.

  14. I like the vagueness coming from the Saskatchewan party caucus.

  15. what vagueness?..it is a FACT that the ndp harass 90 year olds. How pitiful is that....

  16. Kids have more sense than this.

  17. The Saskatchewan party caucus runs a blog which smears average Saskatchewan citizens who write letters to the editor.

  18. "The Saskatchewan party caucus runs a blog which smears average Saskatchewan citizens who write letters to the editor."

Don't you mean the identify agenda driven NDP party members who write letters to the editor. Or member of the SGEU who hide their allegiances and pretend to offer fair views?

Just a another example of the NDP hiding the truth and attempting to scare Saskatchewan citizens.

  19. Who says somebody who is a member of a union cannot write a letter to the editor in a democracy? The Saskatchewan party runs a taxpayer paid blog to smear these residents. If you want scare tactics spending taxpayer money to smear citizens is at the top of the list.

  20. The letters to the editor that are called out come from people who are card carrying members of the NDP yet attempt to portray an unbiased opinion. Good for the blog, just found it and read them. Great read.

Is it really funded by tax payers though? Where is the information on this? That isn't right if so. Please post a link or confirm this somehow.

  21. Which blog are you people referring to?

  22. ndp boogeyman, google it

  23. Every citizen regardless of membership in a political party has a right to write letters to the editor. What becomes questionable is a government using taxpayer funds to run a blog smearing citizens.

  24. Is that blog funded and supported by tax payers dollars? How are you sure of that?

If it is true please post evidence you have of such?

  25. The NDP boogeyman blog exposes the truth! Guaranteed to give you a good laugh. It is not funded by taxpayers, that is a myth. The Saskparty watch blog is pretty funny too! It could be run on taxpayers too! Have fun reading!

  26. Both the ndpwatch and boogeyman are funded run by Saskatchewan party caucus staff who are paid for by taxpayers! Even Murray Mandryk pointed out the blog was run by the Saskatchewan party in a couple of his articles.

    ReplyDelete
  27. who is the Saskparty watch blog paid for by? Must be someone...oh maybe a union paid person? Samo Samo!

  28. Isn't Murray Mandryk a card carrying NDP who would do anything to further the party?

I would take whatever Murray says with a grain of salt.
