Creepy Treehouse

Creepy Treehouse is apparently the name given those those older than mayoralty candidate Swystun who attempt to use website social networking sites to campaign. About incumbent Atchison she said "He's 20th century, we're 21st century" and "He's about the past. We're about the future." I don't know what this means in terms of chronological age, but someone should share this with Larry King, who looks like he could have been Methuselah's roommate, and yet he tweets and blogs. And I strongly suspect no bartender is asking Lenore for her ID. Put this one up my elm.

  1. Ms. Swystun need only find herself running aganst some 30 something and she'd be less apt to compare on the basis of age. She's got a few miles on her herself...as many of the rest of us do.
The electorate is most interested in how candidates compare on the issues...not on the basis how many wrinkles we've acquired...lets stick to the issues folks!!

  2. We'll see whether Facebook = voter turnout on the 28th. It pains me to say it, but she gets points for getting younger voters onboard this way. I still think she takes us back to the 19th century in terms of policy, but her campaign could be surprisingly effective.

  3. Although the social networks are effective, especially with younger people, I still believe the most effective way to garner support in this election will be face to face interaction. The more doors the mayoralty candidates knock on the more support they will achieve.
If Swystun reaches as many voters at the doors as Atchison she may have a chance.

  4. Love the blog. It's a great way to show everyone that you can mix solid decision-making and intellectual opinion with a sense of humour. Keep up the good work!
