I am not a Luddite

Mayor Atch states he is not a technological Luddite because he had the first privately owned satellite dish in the province. Being able to use a phone to order a dish, or a remote control to operate it, does not make you a virtual player. He said he hasn't jumped head-first into new technologies on the campaign trail because he's waiting for them to evolve. Come on Atch, lead the way!

  1. Satellite dish? How very 1970s of you, Mr. Mayor. Hope you can still get your Magnum PI and Three's Company re-runs on there.

  2. The intrinsic sanity and sensibility of civic politics relates to the fact that the medium is not necessarily the message. Regardless of delivery channel, the enduring truth is that the Mayor's message is positive and constructive and Lenore's message is, as always, negative and destructive.

  3. Ironically, the technological matrix of the two candidates is reversed when you look at style and policy. Lenore represents the whining and defeatism of decades past while Mayor Atchison represents the confidence and hope of the new Saskatoon, and the future.

  4. Although I do think Atchison makes for a more efective mayor then Swystun would, I think the above 2 comments are overly trite. It would be so nice to have an election,of any kind, where those in support of a candidate could do so by promoting their candidates positives without unduly villifying the oppostion. But alas, wishing for a more positive style is just..merely wishful thinking...obviously unrealistic!

  5. Wow someone who wants an election that everyone plays fare. Sounds like the same person that wouldn't allow teams to run up the score because it wouldn't be nice. Everyone Keeps score that's how you win. As for a cival civic election not!!

  6. Not a question of playing fair. Simply a matter of common civility. Guess some prefer a mud fight over a fight on the issues.
your snideness says it all. oh well...small minds!

  8. Civ Miss; your comments are always thought provoking. You have a great way of saying things that voters should consider before casting their ballot. (and getting them off their back sides on election day) Jumpin
