Bring out the lubricant

I have always believed that the NDP was a well-oiled political machine. They could get out their vote and loyalists fell over themselves serving the party. So I don't get why the party strategists are letting the nomination process get away from them in the Sutherland constituency. According to the pundits this may be a winnable seat for the NDP. Meili came out of nowhere during the leadership race and obviously captivated the party membership. These are the people who will be working any campaign if they like the candidate.

It is not unheard of for the hierarchy of any party to contact a member seeking the nomination and request that they back off or find another constituency in run in. Its basically step aside or get stepped on.

From all appearances Meili looks like a political up and comer. Maybe that's the problem for his leader.

  1. Let's get Don Kerr to write a play based on Shakespeares Caesar. Link would of coarse be Caesar, Meili could be Brutus if he gets the nomination or Marc Anthony if he doesn't. Judy Junor who supported Link could play the loving supportive wife Calpurnia. Frank Quenel would be perfect as Cassius and of course Pat Atkinson would be the brilliant stategist Cleopatra. It could run to packed houses at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan next summer as a kick off to the fall elections

  2. And yet Meili says nobody from the party was involved with his decision. The same cannot be said for Jason Dearborn or Brenda Bakken-Lackey.

  3. Glad to see the blinded NDP hacks are still visiting the Mistress' blog

  4. It was a fair point to point out that MLAs have left the Saskatchewan party due to Brad Wall.

  5. I think Mistress acknowledged that point:

I think the point that Anon 10:33pm was trying to make is that everytime something negative is said about the NDP the party hacks come out to ensure that an equally negative point is said about the Sask Party.

Really, can we not have a discussion about this issue without dragging tit for tat into it? With that logic then any time a conversation about Serge and his (alleged) misdeeds comes up we must also rehash every political misdeed of the NDPs as well?

  6. Except there is no evidence to suggest what is being pushed is true. Meili states he left over the negativeness of politics and nothing to do with the party or its leader. The same can`t be said for Brad Wall and Brenda Bakken.

  7. Can't even resist getting a shot in in a two sentence post hey?

Will be so much fun to listen to you lefties scream and call outrage after the next SP election win.

  8. Actually Anon 5:48, to be completely correct there were reports that Meili left over other candidates possibly conspiring to keep him from being elected party leader. While he later denied the reports, you always have to wonder if there is fire where there is smoke....

  9. You will have to include the Progressive Conservative party in the group who will be screaming next election if the Saskatchewan party does not return their money and steals the election.
